The durability of solid wood office furniture can be significantly improved through scientific maintenance. The key lies in controlling the environment, regular care, proper cleaning, and avoiding damage.

1. Control Ambient Humidity to Prevent Cracking and Swelling
Solid wood is extremely sensitive to humidity. The ideal indoor humidity should be maintained between 40% and 60%.

Use a humidifier during the dry season in northern regions and use an air conditioner or dehumidifier during the rainy season in southern regions.

Avoid placing furniture directly against walls (leave a 3 cm gap) to prevent moisture damage from the walls.

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight and Heat Sources
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause the wood to fade, crack, and the surface coating to age.

Do not place your desk in direct sunlight from windows; use curtains or dust covers if necessary.

Keep it away from air conditioner vents, radiators, electric heaters, and other heat sources to prevent localized overheating and deformation.

3. Regularly apply wood wax oil to enhance the protective layer.

Apply wood wax oil every 6-12 months to effectively prevent moisture, stains, and slow down aging.

After cleaning surface dust, apply wood wax oil evenly along the wood grain with a soft cloth and let it dry for at least 3 hours.

For high-frequency use areas (such as desktops), the frequency can be reduced to every 6 months; for low-frequency use areas, it can be extended to 1-2 years.

4. Clean properly to avoid damaging the surface.

Wipe away dust daily with a dry, soft cotton cloth. Do not use damp cloths, towels, or steel wool to prevent moisture from seeping in or scratching carved areas.

Oil stains can be gently wiped with alcohol or high-proof liquor. Avoid using acidic or alkaline cleaners to prevent corrosion of the coating.
