You can make a preliminary assessment of the dryness of solid wood furniture using methods such as weighing it, touching the surface, tapping it and listening to the sound, observing details, and using simple tests.

1. Weighing Method: Feel the weight. Dry solid wood furniture is significantly lighter than furniture made from wood with high moisture content. If the furniture is unusually heavy, it may contain too much internal moisture and not be fully dried.

2. Touch Method: Check surface temperature and feel. Touch the surface of the furniture; wood with high moisture content will feel cooler, while dry wood will feel relatively warm.

A smooth surface without dampness or condensation indicates good dryness.

3. Tapping Method: Listen to the sound to determine dryness. Gently tap the furniture panel or edge with your knuckles. A clear, resonant sound indicates good dryness; a dull, muffled sound may indicate high moisture content and a risk of cracking.

4. Observation Method: Check the surface and joint condition. Well-dried solid wood furniture should have no obvious deformation, warping, or cracks.

Joints should be tight and seamless, with no signs of expansion. If small cracks appear at the ends (end cracks), it usually indicates incomplete drying.

5. Paper Towel Test: Detect the release of trace moisture. Place a dry paper towel under the furniture and observe after one night:

If the paper towel becomes damp or has water stains, it means the wood is still slowly releasing moisture and is not completely dry.
